Simplifying confusing main menu

Main navigation for the global B2B services provider.

Problems

  • Very low usage of the meni
  • User getting lost within the menu
  • Busy design
  • Readability issues

Goal

  • Simplify design and the menu entries layout.
  • Make the nav more user friendly.
  • increase engagement
  • Increase conversion

Process

  • Analysed MS Clarity's session recordings and heatmaps to find a pattern in user behaviour and identify blockers.
  • Facilitated workshops with the local marketing teams to identify most logical layout.
  • The workshop findings allowed me to produce lo-fi wireframes, for testing purposes.
  • After tweaks to the lo-fi wireframes, the pototype has been produced.

Results and Impact

  • I have no access to post go-live data. I'm pretty sure it was quite successful as the designs are still in use on the site.
